How To Get Your Small Business Website For FREE!

If you plan to do business online, then you are probably looking for an inexpensive way to have your small business website developed. You probably don’t want to go through the back and forth hassle of working with a web designer on what you want your website to look like. It would be great if you could look through a catalog of premium web designs that can easily be customized to your business brand, allowing you to have your website designed in the shortest length of time. This would allow you to save on design time fees, and custom design charges which can range in the thousands of dollars.

There are many website companies who will give you a website for a cheap price, unfortunately you will also receive a cheap looking web design. Many of these services do not allow you to completely customize your brand to suit your business needs. They make it difficult and often times impossible to change the layout of the web page, limiting your website’s ability to grow and expand. It is important to have a small business website that is designed to allow for unlimited business growth. A small business website should allow for custom layout design and custom programming.

Small business owners should be able to incorporate third part technology in order to grow their businesses. Many website companies that offer affordable websites provide cookie cutter templates that don’t allow the business owner to edit or adjust the source code of their own website. This often times hinders the ability to be found on the major search engines as well, because you cannot optimize your web design for specific keywords.

Here are five things to look for when choosing a discount web design company:

The ability to choose between thousands of premium web design brands, not a couple dozen cookie cutter templates that give your business an amateur look and feel. The ability to provide a fully customizable and professional web design, complete with graphic technologies that engage your visitors and keeps them coming back for more The ability to integrate third-party software/programming that can help grow your business. The ability to optimize your web page code to rank well on the major search engines. The ability to have your small business website online in as few as 7 business days.

Web design services that are completely free (free template, free hosting) are not a good choice for a small business that intends to present themselves as a legitimate merchant or establishment online. Completely free web services show lack of personal interest on the part of the business owner. Without a true professional presence, it shows that you do not intend to stand behind your content, product or service. Completely free services also limit the functionality and growth potential of your business online. Most completely free web and/or hosting services come with third-party banner advertisements, minimal bandwidth, minimum hosting space and many other shortcomings that make it worth your while to take some time to search for the best value for your buck.

Advanced Article Writing – Write Business Articles That Give a Triple Income Advantage

Advanced article writing and business articles are a perfect match. Take your ability to write articles and direct the topics to what businesses want. For any professional or business owner that means content that translates into customers. A professional attorney or dentist makes mounds of money. However, many have not written an article in years.

Now is carving two more notches in your money belt worth advancing your charge to triple? Instead of charging $30.00 for writing, your new rate becomes $95.00, quite an increase in income.

You style of writing or hand rewriting articles does not change. Already you know that you should start by exposing that a problem exists. This is followed by explaining the dangers of ignoring that need. Last you lay out the blueprint for almost solving that problem. However, the solution requires visiting the website.

Look at the common problem that professionals and businesses share. Gaining new customers, often is obtained by enticing visitors to visit that beautiful looking website. The easiest way appears to be by purchasing advertising or ad words. However, for some of the top professions, the cost of one quick looker is often more than your old rate of $30.00 for a 500 word article.

Even if it were the same, explore the opportunity writing advanced articles provides. A single hand composed article, if well written produces fantastic results. EzineArticles, has a gigantic basic of readers, so having your message read 600 times in just 6 months is certainly withing reach. If 9% of those reading are intrigued into the gates of your client’s website that means a crowd of 54 new, serious people.

Next do some math that even I can understand. The firm was incurring a cost of $30.00 per person, that ended any traffic flow when the ad expired. $30.00 times 54 equals $1,620.00. Even after your reasonable $95.00 fee for ghost writing the article, you saved the professionally run firm $1,500.00. Now the business owners mind moves mysteriously to marvel at that meaning at least $15,000.00 of more money.

Hold on mister businessman, something was overlooked. The lead value savings were for only for a six month time period. Certainly there is at least triple that value for the next five years thereafter. Avid readers of the article keep responding, plus an additional bonus.

Major online trade publications scour the internet for the best articles for their blog. This means that the business name is blasted over the internet. More possible customers or clients inquire, not to mention the national praise of unpaid public relations PR.

Finding this clients is as simple as doing an online search. Hundreds of thousands of results immediately are given to you in at least 250 different areas of need. If you already know that you can go to the free website of Alexa, and see how much traffic is being driven to the website. Now the easy pursuit begins.

Look for the easy targets. Does their home page carry a 250 word description of services? Are consumers provided with informational content? Is their Alexa ranking above 800,000? Three strikes and you are in.

What do you need? Only a well written article on EzineArticles to use as your sample. Develop a short, baited email from the info above. Call the secretary, cut and paste your email, injecting both items directly into the body and send. Unless of course they demand more article writing, or rewriting the articles for their blog or website.

The best time to start? Now. Start by writing your sample piece, then submitting, and getting approval. That is it.

To Grow Your Business on the Internet, Make Your Website Visible

When most small business make a commitment to Internet Marketing, their first step is to create a website. Unfortunately, many business owners believe this is where their work ends. They think “if you build it, they will come.” In reality, “they” may come, but only if a business owner takes the necessary steps to make their website easy to find and visible. And even then, considering how many websites there are competing for high ranking and visibility, it can be a time consuming, expensive, and sometimes frustrating effort.

While there are myriad tools and techniques available to drive awareness and visibility online for today’s businesses, small and medium-sized companies can get started by focusing on a few core techniques that will move them down the path to visibility, and driving more, qualified visitors to their website:

SEO - Of all the techniques, SEO may still be the most effective, highest volume source of gaining visibility on the search engines, and the lowest cost of long term online customer acquisition. SEO continues to deliver the highest visibility by ranking you at or near the top of the organic search rankings for phrases your target market uses to find your goods and services. For developing long term brand awareness for your website, for being visible to searchers as they start their online purchasing process and for being there when they are ready to take the next step, SEO continues to be worth the investment in time and money.

Paid Search (PPC) - Many people think that they need to make a choice between SEO and PPC when deciding how to increase their visibility online. Nothing could be further from the truth. The two are complimentary and work well together to provide maximum visibility. Using both together in an integrated plan will provide a synergistic jump in online traffic to your site. PPC provides companies the ability to appear prominently on the search engine results pages (SERPs), with a tailored offer to a target geography and demographic. It is very sales focused and enables companies to exploit unique opportunities, react quickly to changing market dynamics, and engage with a targeted audience at the time they are ready to buy. While SEO benefits take time to manifest, benefits of a PPC campaign can be felt immediately, and can begin the inflow of online leads while you are waiting for the results of your SEO project to be felt.

Local Search – The third of three sections on a SERP, Local Search is an incredible opportunity for small businesses serving a local community to get first page SERP visibility. While it may technically be considered part of SEO, Local Search is the fastest and lowest cost technique to achieving first page SERP ranking. And with the growing mobile internet phenomena in full swing, getting your local business on the first page of the SERPS is more important than ever.

Social Media – Search engines are not the only vehicle for being found online anymore. This newer and dramatically growing dimension of online marketing continues to offer fresh and exciting ways to engage your target market, build your brand and interest in it, and generate both buzz and new customers. Whether it is Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn or any of the hundreds of other sites, Social Media enable businesses to create a community of like minded people around their brand, directly interact with their customer and fan base with dynamic content and a two way conversation, and bring a more human element to their business online.

Blogging – Blogging enables you to establish a recurring conversation with your target market. You can use this tool to establish yourself as a domain expert in your field, to communicate trends, the latest news, case studies, and any number of different themes. This will bring attention to you, your business, and your website, and build a following that will translate into more visitors to your site. Blogging is also a significant component of “off page” SEO, important in it’s own right. And when you combine blogging with a strong Social Media presence, you begin to establish a more visible and authoritative presence online, and lay the foundation for long term brand building and website traffic.

Creating an attractive website and driving new visitors to it are critical to your the success of your Internet Marketing efforts. But you can’t stop there. Once visitors start arriving, is your website designed to make it easy for them to find what they are looking for? Have you eliminated friction in your conversion paths to make it easy for your visitors to take the action you want them to take? Is your business ready to accept this inflow of new visitors and engage them attentively, professionally, and courteously? There are many dimensions to growing your business via the Internet, and you need to pay attention to them all if you want to maximize your ROI and maximize your success.

Local Business Search – Improving the Mileage of Your Map Listing

For a small local business, engaging the potential customer market in your community is crucial. With 97% of consumers going online to research local products or services, being highly placed and easy to find on the major search engines is an undeniable asset. The local map listings offered by the major search engines – Google Places, Yahoo Local, and Bing Local – provide a great opportunity to appeal directly to customers in your area, while they’re looking for your services, without having to stretch your marketing budget or even open your wallet. Here are a few ways to get the best return on your map listing.

Current, Correct, Claimed
According to Google, only roughly 8% of their Places listings have been claimed. Just like a website that hasn’t been updated since 2007, a local business listing without any content or interaction from the business owner is an ineffective tool to say the least. Claiming your listing immediately increases customer trust when they find your page; they know the information has been provided by the owner of the business. You may find your business has multiple listings on any given search engine. Claim them all! Consolidate all information onto the profile you intend to keep, then delete the rest to keep from diluting the power of your business listing.

Give your customers – and Google – as much information as you think they could possibly need. Make sure the information you enter is as accurate and up to date as possible; Google is going to look around the web for other mentions of your business to help it confirm the validity of your listing. Every match Google makes between the information your provided to them and a listing on another site helps them confirm that your business is legitimate and can boost your rank. Take the time to check out other data providers where your business may have a listing, and make absolutely sure that your business name, address, and telephone number – at the very least – are consistent across all websites.

Unpack and Arrange the Furniture
At this point, your business listing is like a house you moved into a week ago. The critical areas are set up and all the boxes have made it into the right rooms; now it’s time to make it look like you actually live there. The description space isn’t the place for a standard boilerplate statement; use it to highlight the things that set you apart and make your business special. Do you require your employees to get special certifications? Have the first dog walking business in your town? Do you sponsor a Little League team? Have you received any service recognitions or local “best of” awards? Tell your customers!

Take the chance to provide visitors to your listing with as much information as they might need. Do you take limited forms of payment, or, conversely, a wide or unusual variety? Maybe you offer military or senior discounts? What are your hours of operation? Do you have 24/7 emergency service? What areas do you serve? The more robust your information, the higher your rank and, more importantly, your customers’ satisfaction. Think of questions your potential customers might have or reasons they might be looking for your business and speak directly those needs.

Hang Some Pictures
Most of the local business listings sites allow pictures and video. On Google, your listing can have up to 10 photos and 5 videos. Your company logo, pictures of your store location if applicable, photos of prior jobs, or an employee photo are great options. If you have a TV commercial, a promotional video spot, or an appearance on the local news, feature it! Let your potential customers get to know you a little; the more they feel they know and trust you, the more likely they are to do business with you.

Get the Neighbors Talking
Word of mouth marketing is still a big influence on many consumers; encouraging your customers to review your business online extends that power to any local consumer searching for your services. Reviews can increase customer trust in your business by allowing them to hear about you directly from other customers and see all aspects of your business. On many search engines, there appears to be a strong correlation between the number of reviews a business has and their rank by the map. A steady stream of reviews coming in means your listing is constantly being updated with fresh content and stays relevant, which can translate to improved map placement and more traffic for your business.

Don’t be afraid of negative feedback! Beside the fact that online reviews are overwhelmingly positive – the average rating for things online is 4.3 stars out of 5 – a listing filled with nothing but glowing reviews is highly suspicious to shoppers. They already know your business isn’t perfect. What customers are looking for is the most complete picture of your company possible; they want all the information they need to decide whether to do business with you, and a healthy mix of reviews helps to provide just that. Negative reviews also give you a great chance to show off your customer service skills and set yourself apart from the huge corporations or other businesses in your field. Handling criticism with a professional attitude and taking the chance to set things right for disgruntled customers will often earn you the most vocal supporters your business could wish for.

There’s no magic formula that will guarantee you the top local search placement 100% of the time. Search engines change their ranking algorithms constantly and rarely broadcast the specific metrics involved. However, as businesses, they do share a top priority with you – providing the best customer experience possible. Following the tips above will most likely result in a positive change to your map ranking, but it will absolutely result in happier, more well-informed customers who are more likely to pick your business and recommend it later.

No business in today’s world can ignore the importance of websites. Website is a necessary part of any business or profession. Website makes a very strong impression of a company and it is very important to own a website when you are more concerned about exploring your business world wide. A website works for your business 24x7x365 and you can’t ignore the revenue and profits that can be generated through a website.

If you a business owner of a small, medium or big company, or a professional or free lancer you must own a website for a competitive edge over your business and many other reasons. For online success you need to have a website with an attractive and unique design. To get a website may be costlier and time consuming task if you opt to get it designed by a website design professional or learn website designing skills yourself. One of the easiest and cost effective way is to get a website design is to use a website builder. Such soft wares are easy to use and you don’t need to possess any design or programming skills prior to using them. The best part is that the software comes with lots of professional website templates that can be easily customized. You can add your own images, logo, banners, and text to the website design templates.

The best feature of website builder software is that it allows users to build a website using click of the mouse; all you need to do is drag and drop using your mouse in the layout environment of the website maker and the software will take care of all the back end coding of html, css, JavaScript etc. Another advantage is that you can also re-size the images used in the templates.

The flash website builder software helps even the most inexperienced users to create professional looking websites quickly and easily. By using drag-and-drop technology and inclusion of various pre-made customizable website design templates, the website builder software levels the gap between beginners and experts in the field of website design and development.

Small Business Website Design – What Do I Put On My First Website?

Creating your first website can feel overwhelming and intimidating. Once you get beyond the process of getting the actual bones of the site done and have a good structure to build on you then need to decide what to put on your website.

The words on your website are often known as it’s content. Creating website content can be a daunting task if you’ve never written for the internet. It doesn’t work to just transfer the kind of content you would use offline into the online world.

The internet is an entirely different creation, a completely different medium and you need to really understand how people think in order to write for it well.

Let’s start by going over some of the most common and important website pages:

Home page - This is the main page of your site. It’s the page people will land on if they type your domain name into their internet browser. So how do you make sure you don’t mess this page up and end up driving people away? Use your home page to capture the attention of your potential customer or client. Call their name by understanding them as a person with a specific need or problem that you can help with. Know their language and use it. Don’t save the good stuff for later because there may never be a later – get it out there and grab their interest from the start.

About page – It’s a mistake to leave this page off your website. People routinely go to the About Page to find out about a company or a business owner. They want to know they can trust you and that you’re a real person. Create a detailed about page that assures their worries and confirms that you’re just the type of business they’ll love to work with.

Products or Services pages – Of course you’ll need to showcase what you have to sell. Make sure you clearly state what it is you have to offer and give your visitors calls to action. Don’t just assume people will see your stuff and know what to do next – spell it out for them!

Contact page – Another essential website page that builds trust. Even if a potential customer has no intent to actually content you it’s very likely they’ll check your contact page to confirm you are a legitimate business. Prove your legitimacy by posting your name, position, phone number, email AND physical or mailing address. The location is important because it’s much less suspicious than having no way to track you down physically should problems arise.

Privacy Policies & Disclaimers – Legally it’s a smart idea to have some privacy policies and disclaimers added to your website.

Every website is different. What you write for your site is going to depend largely on your target market and what they respond to. Pay attention to how your visitors react and do what you can to track – then tweak as you go to improve your content and the response it gets.

Designing A Well Structured Website Homepage

Websites consist of many pages. Some have a few pages and others have hundreds or thousands. All of these pages would be useless though if the site didn’t have a homepage. To put it simply, a website’s homepage is the most critical page on the entire site. It directs users to the sub-level pages and allows them to find what they’re after quickly and easily. As such, it is important that this page is designed correctly.

The content found on the homepage will depend entirely on the kind of website you’re having developed, however it must always clearly identify key areas of the site and should also entice the user to drill into these key areas. I have attempted to list a number of common homepage requirements for a number of different websites below. If you’d like to find out what kind of content we think should be included on your homepage, please send us an email!

So, as a business owner who offers both products and services, what should I have on my website homepage?

In a nutshell, you want to highlight feature products, key core service categories and also display any dynamic content and promotional material that is relevant to these products and services. Dynamic content may include business related news and updates while promotional material may include discount flyers. Users will see these products and services and quickly determine whether they’re what they were after. Your homepage should also include any information that users who visit your site on a regular basis would like to see immediately. This would include competition winners, featured clients and product updates/downloads.

So, as a business owner who runs a real estate agency, what should I have on my website homepage?

Real estate agencies focus on the sale of residential and commercial properties. That’s their business and thus that’s what their homepage should focus on also. The content found on a real estate agents homepage should include a property search facility, detailed information on new listings, auctions and open house inspections. All of this content should be dynamic and should be derived directly from their property management software package. As with most business related websites, the homepage should also highlight any products or services the company has to offer

So, as a business owner who runs an online store, what should I have on my website homepage?

First and foremost, your online store’s homepage should highlight featured products, sales and discounted items. Users should be able to quickly find their way to the product pages for these items and add them to their cart just as easily. Some other great elements to include are product filters, search query boxes and newsletter submission forms. These allow the user to find product categories, specify price ranges and search for specific products. By providing the user with these facilities, they will be able to find the product they’re after without having to put much thought into it. This will ultimately drive them that one step closer to adding those items to their cart!

So, as a business owner who runs a gaming centre, what should I have on my website homepage?

Gaming centres are usually community focused websites and as such they need to focus on a number of key elements. Firstly they should identify any events or gaming modes that the players can get involved in. This entices users to come to the gaming centre at different times to get involved. Secondly, as they’re a community focused site, they must identify current leaderboard positions and news relating to such tournaments. This will build a competitive environment amongst its players thus driving them to come back for more. Thirdly, they should include exciting promotional material that will keep the players interested. Gaming centres must have an extremely dynamic site with almost instantaneous result submissions thus allowing the players to see how they’re going as soon as they finish playing.

We could go on forever here. Unfortunately there are far too many types of websites out there and each of them will have specific requirements based on their type, content and style. It’s also almost impossible to identify what each type of site should have on their homepage as it also relates to their specific business model, however we can point you in the right direction. Using the above suggestions, a bit of imagination and creativity and a little bit of planning and you’ll have users clicking through your links in no time!

All Business Websites Can Be Created Using Joomla CMS

All business websites need a quality content management system (CMS) in order to shine the light of what they do to their customers and the world at large. Starting a site is not something that a business owner should take lightly since so much of what is done today is online. Customers (and potential customers) depend on your website to keep them informed, answer their questions, and link them to a live person, who can help with any concerns they might have. Depending on what business that you are in, your site may also be a revenue generator. It is essential that you have content, which keeps visitors (and advertisers) coming back for more.

But the quality of your content is only one small part of the way that your site operates. You also need a presentation format that is going to be aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Something that will be an advocate for your site. Joomla is one of the most popular content management systems in the world because of its absolute simplicity, both in presentation and usability. The business that chooses Joomla for their website does not want to depend on technical jargon. They want something that will allow them to say what needs to be said, while also allowing their users to feel a sense of community while checking out the site.

Of course, nothing trumps the content that you carry on your website. Before you expect a CMS like Joomla to enact positive change in your online efforts, you need to examine what you are currently doing online and use best practices to get your readership involved. There are a variety of ways to do this.

Firstly, make sure that the things you discuss related to your business are relevant and appealing to what users want to know. It may help to make a list of the most frequently asked questions for your industry and then use that list to generate content.

Secondly, you will want to make your site functional with frequent updates that allow the search engines to know that you are out there and you are a worthy source of information in your area of expertise.

Thirdly, you want to make it easy for your clients or customers to interact with you, and in some cases, each other. Part of the strength of Joomla is how easily it lets you develop and manage communities of users. Connecting with the people, who keep you in business, is the best way to make sure they keep coming back.

While Joomla can give you the tools that you need out of a CMS, it cannot do all the heavy lifting for you. Be passionate about your site and what it represents.

Why Does My Business Need a Website?

Does every business need a website? Well, this is a question only the business owner can answer. However, the answer is generally YES! This is because, if you don’t do it, your competitor is going to do it and snatch your market share away.

Well, but, my products and services can’t really sell online, why do I need a website?

Ask yourself, ask your co-worker, how many times in recent years that you have asked your favorite search engine, about the information, products and services you need? I believe, that should answered the question if you need a website for your business or not.

Whoever is on yellow pages yesterday, will need to have a websites today. Corporate need a website, same does small business, and retailer, restaurant, lawyer, accountant, dentist, insurance agent, property agent, and even plumber need a website. If you don’t have a website, when I do a search on my search engine, your peers that own a website will get the business, not you.

Something great about internet is, it is a leveled battle field for us to play with the big guy. You are always just a click away from the big guy to win their business over. A well design, properly craft marketing message on your website can reflect a professional image on your small operation. A website should be the best friend of any small business. It is your PR agency, your advertising board, your marketing manager, your recruitment firm, and many more.

Getting yourself onto internet has been most important thing for any business in the recent years. Without putting yourself on the internet, means you are losing prospect, losing your market share, failed to generate new lead, and when all your competitors are up on the internet, where will be your business?

Here is 5 quick answer of why,
It is cheaper that advertising, and it stay there almost forever. You can use the website to interact with your prospect or your customer. It is a trend today where people will search on the web before they make up their mind about the purchasing decision. It gives you far better reach to the customer that is outside of your local area. It is easier to get people to visit your website and understand about your business, than pick up their phone or visit your store personally.
