Every small business owner knows that they need a website, right? Well the truth is what they really need is at least two websites.
One website that is specific to their business, product, service, name, etc. and…
another site that is an educational site specific to the benefits of their service or product.
So JoesBaitShop.com tells all about the various lures and tackle you offer, even more about the charter trips, and eventually how to buy.
CatchFishToday.com (your other site) however is full of informative information, how-to tips, and resources for avid fisherpersons.
Of course this site also has plenty (but not too many) of links back to JoesBaitShop.com.
Here’s the deal. Online people don’t go out searching for companies, They go online looking for solutions, information, answers to life’s persistent questions…you know like what’s the best hat to wear cod fishing?
Your second website gives them the answer and sends them to your first site to go shopping.
It really doesn’t matter what business you are in. An investment banking firm can benefit from the same strategy.
Here’s the reason. The major search engines want to index high quality information. A site about what a person can buy from you doesn’t make that cut but a site with an article about how to cast in windy conditions does.
In addition, search engines take a look at sites that link to you and give your some points for that. A high quality how to site about fishing will draw plenty of related links. This will only help drive that traffic to JoesBaitShop.com even faster.
The cost of putting up a website is so low these days it’s really a crime if you don’t come up with about 10 reasons to have multiple sites.
Think of it this way. You need one site that presells and one site that sells. If this strategy even remotely makes sense to you then there is a book you should read today! It’s called Make Your Site Sell. Go see for yourself

The web is perfect for a business to build its presence and increase sale conversions. A business website or e-commerce website expands a business’ customer outreach and strengthens the brand. However, the design of the website is crucial to its success. Website design incorporates effective and keyword rich content, an appealing layout reflecting the business image, attractive colors and easy navigability.
Some of the elements necessary for effective website design are described below.
1) Landing pageThe landing page could be the home page of the website or any other page the user is directed to as a result of clicking on an internet advertisement or link. The content on this page is the opener that gives potential customers a glimpse of what the website offers.
2) Grabbing headlinesEach page of the website should have a headline that is unique and compelling. It should be worded such that customers feel inclined to explore the page further.
3) Attractive designThe design of the website should be attractive. A good looking website welcomes a customer to browse and explore its options. The longer the customer stays on the website; higher are the chances of her finalizing a sale.
4) Effective copywritingThe text of the website should not only be rich in keywords to attract traffic but also well written. Language and style engage customers’ interest. The language should be positive, emphatic and most of all simple. A website is not the place for esoteric or oversimplified text. The aim is to be understood by customers.
5) Clear subheadingsSubheadings in pages highlight the points being made. They should follow the headline logically and be spaced across the page. Subheadings give readers a gist of the content without going into details.
6) High readability and navigational easeThe copy of the website should be readable and clear. The design should be well-structured and easily navigable. Finalizing a sale should never be more than a click away from wherever the customer is on the website.
7) Highlight items on saleProducts and services that are being promoted or sold should be easily accessible. Customers should be able to reach products quickly, browse options and place orders without searching too much.
Encourage repeat visits and recommendationsEffective website copy and design combine to make a website standout from its competition. Satisfied customers spread the word about your website – a place worth spending money. They talk to their associates, friends and social networks and build your website’s reputation. You not only win repeat visits from existing customers but acquire new ones every day.
9) Make your claims credibleWebsites look more credible with references and testimonials. Designers use images, text, videos and cartoons to underline the worthiness of the website and make claims believable. These complements also tend to stick in the minds of customers.
10) Talk to the customerSince you want to sell your products and services to the customers, you naturally want to present your business in good light. However, the website should be tuned to the customer’s needs. Text, images, videos and offers should talk to the customer directly about how the products serve their needs. Self-interest should never shadow ‘service to customers’.
All elements of a website work together to give the perfect experience to customers. Happy customers are sure to visit again and spread word about your website. Your brand gains awareness and your revenue expands.

Without a doubt, the best way to get yourself known in a specific type of niche is through article marketing. It goes through some commonly used built in filters to make it more believable than paid advertisements. In fact, you can convey your knowledge or skill of your chosen niche by means of this method. Likewise, life coach business practices this kind of method. Let us take a look at the following reasons for the role that article marketing plays to make your life coach business prosper.
Your coaching message can be expressed by means of written articles. Every written article corresponds to the kind of life coach business you are in. It is imperative that every time you write an article for the purpose of conveying your coaching message, you have to look into the minds of your followers in order to know their needs and possible questions they might ask you in the future.
Once you are done with your research as well as incorporating important keywords in your nicely written articles, you can then attract the attention of future clients. This can be a good start of your life coaching business.
Now that you have gotten the attention of your clients, your coaching message should not only excite and stimulate their interests but also make them crave for more. Given that these clients are pleased with the message of your articles, they would even ask to communicate with you on a more personal level.
This is now an encouraging sign for you to make your life coaching business and your readers meet at a point where they are going to take action by going to more of your links. In doing so, they can view and understand more of your niche from your articles.
Your unique and powerful articles may be published by other article directories and publishers where huge traffic are generated. Moreover, if you have researched well and included your keywords properly, your potential clients will surely be attracted to read and even be a part of your blogs, and your website. This is an advantage for the success of your coaching business.
Your articles can be used as a tool for list building. A resource box is needed in every article you write. Through this resource box, the readers will be able to access your website with a single click, then they can go through your email list as well as download from your website. The more you impart to them your coaching message through email, the more you will be known as an expert in your coaching business.
When promoting your life coach business, your primary goal should be to expand your email for your list building. Through the email list, you can have an opportunity to communicate on a daily basis with real people that are on your list. This will not only build up your reputation as a life coach but also encourage your readers to become one of your coaching clients. Therefore, you are slowly making your life coach business successful.

You have invested in a website, but you are not receiving the response from your online presence that you had hoped. It’s time to go back to the beginning to see where you can make improvements.
Website Address and Appearance
How does your domain name represent your company? Is it your company name, or does it in some way reflect the products/services you offer? Is your website address easy to remember, or does it give you carpal tunnel because it’s so long? It is understood that the right words in your domain name govern a better search engine ranking, but too many words often steer surfers elsewhere. Choose one memorable domain name to use as your standard website address, and then discuss with a domain registrar purchasing other domain names that contain the keywords that will help your site receive more traffic. Register them, and have them point to your main website address.
Are your company name and logo memorable? Can they be misinterpreted to mean something other than your product or service, or are they similar to another company’s on the Internet? When someone visits your website, do your business name and logo offer a company image that is distinctive?
Is your website easy to navigate? You have a limited amount of time to catch your website visitor’s attention, and keep their attention. Make sure that the most pertinent information you want them to know is on your homepage. It is important to entice them, and to draw them in with concise ad copy. Do not overload the page with too much information-instead, break your website down into clearly labelled pages, such as About Us, Our Services, Our Portfolio, Contact Us, etc. If you keep your most important and impressive information on your homepage, your website visitor will be more inclined to search for more information. Make sure it’s easy for them to access.
Try to avoid such things as blinking signs, and animated ad banners. These used in moderation are okay, but too many cause the site to look to cluttered, and may avert your website visitor’s attention away from the important aspects of the website you want them to focus on.
And most importantly: make sure your website content is always up-to-date. Stale content will not only bore your website visitors, your visitors will refrain from browsing your site on a regular basis. Another important thing to keep in mind is search engines will be more inclined to pick up your website in their search results, if you are offering up-to-date content and useful information.
Keep Them Coming Back
Serious online marketing should include search engine optimization. This is the process of creating and modifying web pages to achieve the highest search engine ranking possible. Remember that search engines supply websites with 70-80% of their traffic, and favour websites that are easily accessible and user-friendly.
Give your visitors a reason to come back. This could be in the form of a blog, keeping your visitors informed of what is going on with yourself and your business, monthly promotions, or new product information. Try to stay objective, and ask yourself what keeps you visiting your favourite websites, incorporating these aspects into your own.
Social networking is a great way to let customers and business colleagues alike get to know you on a personal level. Become a recognizable business person, not just a business name. Social networking will allow you to form professional business alliances. Learn to blog, launch a Facebook business page, and open a Twitter account. These will help you to become more accessible to more opportunities, and will make you that much more approachable to your customers.
Also consider pay-per-click advertising, through such avenues as Google AdWords and Facebook. These are ads that you create, and get to target according to the audience you are wishing to reach. Best of all, you choose the budget you wish to stick to. Once you have reached your monthly budget, the ads automatically stop until the following month. Both AdWords and Facebook offer detailed statistics of who shows interest in your ads, making it easy to make any necessary adjustments to your campaign in the future.
Another great way to remind your customers to return to your website, is by offering a monthly or quarterly newsletter to keep them up-to-date with your business news and promotions. Everyone today is extremely busy, and by sending a monthly or quarterly reminder, it may encourage a potential customer to contact you that much quicker. Direct them to certain pages of your website that might interest them. Be considerate of your customers needs, and they will respond.
Coordinate Your Online and Offline Marketing
Do not give up on a budget for magazine and newspaper advertising. This is still a viable business asset. Consider adding a coupon to your ads to see how many people respond to this form of advertising and visit your website. This will also help you to figure out which publications are giving you more results than others.
Make sure your website address is on all of your publicity materials: business cards, flyers, promotional stationary, etc.
On your website, offer a convenient online form that your potential customers can fill out to contact you. As part of the form, ask where they heard about your business, as another way to make sure your advertising dollars are being placed in the best areas possible.
You ARE Your Business
Lastly, when you are out and about, always present yourself in a confident, businesslike manner. Always be ready with a friendly, sincere handshake. Always carry business cards. You are your best advertising. If you grow as a business person, your business will grow alongside you. Remember, time is money. This is what you’ve always wanted, so take a deep breath, and jump in.

Search engine optimization or SEO is very important for your home business opportunity websites. You can get the most out of your web pages with the help of SEO and it is the only means to get good website ranking in the search engines.
The traffic which arrives to your websites from the search engines are the most targeted ones because the users are actually looking for the information which is related to your products or services.
More Traffic
The higher ranking in search engines translates into more traffic to your websites. More visitors will definitely mean more business for your company and you will see your sales figures taking an upward turn.
Today the simplest and most effective long term strategy is to get information is through the search engines on the net. That should be at least one primary goal of your website to bring more prospects.
On top of the search engine: (Oh Yes!!!)
The search engines provide the list of websites which are relevant to the search. All the good ranking websites are placed on the first page and the best occupy the top slots. By getting higher rankings, your home business opportunity website receives a higher number of visitors.
In order to occupy the top spots in the search engine results, you will need to constantly optimize your website along with implementing various other online marketing methodologies. Please be reminded that it is not a one time job and you will need to be on it at all times. It won’t take much time for your ranking to go down and therefore you cannot afford to get complacent.
SEO gets you repeat visitors:
Search engine optimization will primarily depend upon getting your website organized. It starts from using the appropriate keywords optimally on the domain name and on the content.
You’ll need to clearly explain your home business opportunity with your content. Moreover, you will also need to keep refreshing the content and making your website search engine friendly. Usage of the proper Meta tags and search engine submissions are very important.
Some key points to also remember is submitting unique content that has value to your readers to places like Ezine Articles and other high quality ezine directories etc. Two main benefits are instant potential prospects interested in your article and getting back links. The more quality back links you have, the higher in the search engine rankings your site will achieve.
It is pretty much an ongoing procedure to ensure that your website rankings stay high. If you do not have the expertise or the time to do it yourself, you could definitely outsource the search engine optimization process to the professionals. You could look up the internet for the various packages available.
Search engine optimization aims at exclusive and niche markets:
Through SEO, your website welcomes the audience to whom your business products or services are exclusively meant for. Search engine optimization filters the sites containing undesirable and irrelevant information. Your website will get less irrelevant visitors.
This way, your website will exclusively cater to the needs of your niche market. This niche label makes your website popular by generating more serious and interested visitors. There are many analytical tools on the internet from where you can get the traffic statistics of your website.
These visitors will hopefully become your customers and bring higher revenues to your home business opportunity.

Article marketing is one of the most powerful and widely used Internet marketing techniques. You can enjoy constant traffic through article marketing and this is one of the cheapest marketing techniques out there. If you are writing articles by yourself, you can market your business for absolutely free of cost! Most business owners like the idea of writing articles on their own but they are not very confident about the quality of their final product. Writing high quality articles is really simple by following these steps:
· Organizing - Organizing is very important in producing high quality articles. Prepare a list of products and services you want to promote. It’s not possible for you to promote your business with a single article but you need many of them. Create a list of titles to write articles on and make plans with the help of a calendar.
· Brainstorming – Brainstorming is extremely important. Brainstorming not only helps you to produce high quality articles but it will also help you to save significant amount of time while writing. Many of us start thinking about what to write once we sit in front of the computer but this is the worst way to produce a good article. You need to have clear focus before starting your work. Take a notepad or use the sticky notes feature on your computer to write down the important aspects. This will ensure that you’re not missing out any important point and at the same time, you can speed up the writing process.
· Writing First Draft – If you follow the first two steps, writing the first draft should be a very easy task. Most people directly proceed with writing the first draft but get stuck in this stage because their brain is filled with cluttered thoughts. Since you already cleared the cluttered thoughts and noted down important points to cover in your article, you can finish your first draft in 10 minutes!
· Editing - Now, you need to read your article thoroughly and make necessary changes. You probably have to rewrite a few sentences to make the article look better. However, a ‘better’ article doesn’t necessarily contain profound words but if you can convince your idea in an interesting manner, you wrote a great article!
· Title - A lot of people start writing an article after putting the title first. You can also give a title to your article once you finish writing the same. This way, you can make sure that the title is highly related to the article body.
Writing a high quality article is very easy but a lot of business owners fail to create interesting articles because they do not pay proper attention to generating ideas first. If you really want to write an article fast, the best possible way is to get a rough idea on what to be discussed on the article body. It doesn’t matter if you take a lot of time on brainstorming because you can write your article just within a few minutes. People who directly start writing an article waste a lot of time in the middle because they do not have clear ideas. This will result in a low quality article.

To keep and maintain a web presence is a must for most small and medium businesses as well. However, all small businesses can’t afford enough of a budget for this purpose. So, operating capital of small businesses may be very small to maintain multifunctional websites. Small businesses would also have the good local advertising concept.
Small businesses needed to appear Large.
Web design is still a must for small businesses in today’s digital world. With an online showroom of your business, you can target a far larger market, than what you can target physically. It is not much expensive if small businesses try to limit their website design, and functionality according to their main requirements only. Research shows that small businesses also have been proven as good online businesses. Web presence shows businesses much larger than they usually they are. Even the home-based businesses do very well in the market because of a web presence.
Your products should be simple and affordable.
The main key to earn more revenue for small business is to keep your products simple, easy to understand, and competitively priced. Remember, in the beginning, your site needs more traffic. So, don’t concentrate more on special services that you provide to special customers. You can show special products and services, once your website is online. For a good start of your website, providing simple products and services is a better way.
Where is your website when local people search?
Now days it’s very easy to search about online market. You can check how many searchers try to find a certain industry with a specific keyword. Google Keyword research tool is the most effective tool. You can check the characteristics of these searches, like geographic position, keyword searched, city, region, etc. Believe it or not, for keywords you want to target for your business, some other businesses are already getting business from that right now.
Do your Onsite optimisation perfectly.
In addition to your user interactive features, photos, videos, your website text should have much importance. Search engine optimisation is the current most effective online marketing strategy. Earlier web businesses could list their businesses in some good directories and search engines to have good ranking in search engines. But, now it is not enough. Good search engines like Google, Yahoo do look for quality of website as well. Content is the main issue that search engines check, to see if a website is genuine or not. Onsite optimisation should be perfect to show your web page quality to impress major search engines.
Beware of making a flawed website.
Don’t try to give the design job of your website to someone who doesn’t have good knowledge of search engine optimisation. If you give your web design project to any small company or freelancer, it can end up with good graphics and presentation box. But, when you see that website as a sight of any search engine optimisation expert, it will be lowest quality website. It will be very difficult to bring that website up in search engine rankings. Don’t even try to design your website yourself if you don’t have good knowledge of search engine optimisation. Small businesses have the biggest limitation of cost in terms of designing a website. They can’t hire big companies to design their websites. But, they can’t wait to manage costing or pay full budget in just web design.

Use Print Ads to Bring Potential Customers to Your Internet Site
Print advertizing can be very profitable to Internet operators. Low-cost classified ads in targeted print magazines can drive folks to your site. Ads not targeted will prove to me fruitless.
One problem to Internet business operators is that ads must be tracked to determine the advertising dollar return. If a visitor comes to the site from a print ad, how do you track it? Well, the simplest way is to have your ad send them to a page (URL) used only for a specific ad. Place a counter on that page to see what traffic is generated by the ad. From this page, your customer can than move to your desired URL and message.
You may want to welcome the visitor to your tracking page with a request for his or her first name and e-mail address. That way, you will know which enquires place orders and those that can be contacted later by e-mail to persuade them to buy your product or service. A free gift or newsletter might intice them to leave their information. Just don’t make it a requirement to move on to your sales pitch.
Some operators request more information than the first name and e-mail address. Is that a good idea? How do you feel about it? Remember that the visitor is there to find the information described in your print ad. He is not there for the Spanish Inquisition. With this in mind, you may not want to ask more than two or three questions.
One Advantage of Print Advertising That Directs Traffic to Your URL
Your URL can be an ad in itself. That is if it is named correctly. I have a dozen web sites. I’ve tried to give them descriptive names that make the URLs ads in themselves. For example, one of my sites is http://www.secret-cash.com.
Another is http://www.money-making-books.com.
Do you get the point?
These URLs are small ads in themselves. This allows me to use fewer words or just the URL to promote my business.

Every website should have a reason for being there. For some websites the purpose may be clear, however for the typical corporate website the purpose may have gotten lost.
Most businesses make the mistake in thinking they need a website for the sake of having one. Though I think all businesses should have one, I also feel most business websites should be built to achieve one of these three goals:
1. Build Awareness/Credibility.
Simply put, building a website to raise awareness of your brand or services is a great purpose for a website. Having a great looking site will also help your business be more credible when they are comparing it to their competitors. More and more users look to websites to evaluate if the company is credible.
After putting your website online you should then utilize social media, online marketing tools such as Google Adwords, to increase exposure to the masses. Awareness isn’t going to be built simply by having a site, you need to get people to your website!
2. Lead/Sales Generation.
Using your website to gather leads is a great purpose for some industries. To do this, you not only need to have marketing initiatives that focus on driving traffic, but also you should have clear “call to actions” on your website. This may be a form for the user to fill out to request information, an instant online chatting device, or a way for visitors to sign up for your services.
3. Provide Information.
Information based websites typically provide and educate their customer. Some service based industries may provide a blog or white papers to provide timely information to their customers. While businesses that have products may share product information, reviews and information to keep visitors coming back for more.
Most website may fall into more than one category. For instance a print services company’s website may be geared about building awareness but may also have lead generation forms to capture information about their potential customers.
What purpose(s) do you want your website to serve? If it is not currently fulfilling them all then contact your web designer and ask them to help.
